History Of Lupi's Bakery

Lupi,s Bakery dating back to 1900 was started by our grandparents on Dixwell Avenue in Highwood section of Hamden CT. It all started in the house our fathers and aunts grew up in. The business was evuntually run by four brothers Peter(Junior), Rudolph, William and Johnny. In 1956 the four brothers purchased Legna Bakery and was known as Lupi's Legna Bakery. In 1983 Lupi,s Bakery purchased a well known Hill Section bakery in New Haven CT, Machigiano Bakery. Lupi's Bakery,run by Peter Lupi III and Larry Lupi, still operates at 169 Washington Avenue, New Haven CT.
